Rwandan President Paul Kagame has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deepening its longstanding relationship with China, describing the Asian giant as a “good friend.”
While receiving the credentials of Gao Wenqi, China’s newly appointed ambassador to Rwanda, on Tuesday, July 29, Kagame expressed optimism about further enhancing traditional ties and expanding practical cooperation. He assured the full support of the Rwandan government and people in helping the ambassador execute his mandate effectively.
Ambassador Gao Wenqi, in turn, highlighted the elevation of China-Rwanda relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, attributing the progress to the strategic leadership of both heads of state. He reiterated China’s readiness to strengthen political trust and expand bilateral cooperation, with a focus on delivering concrete benefits to the citizens of both nations.
