Angola’s Economy Accelerates with 5.7 % GDP Growth in Q4 2025

Angola’s economy registered a robust expansion in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growing by 5.70 % compared with the same period a year earlier, official national statistics show.

According to data from the Instituto Nacional de Estatística, the economy also expanded 1.86 % when measured quarter-on-quarter after seasonal adjustment, underscoring a sustained upward momentum in the final months of the year. Over the full calendar year of 2025, Angola’s GDP rose by about 3.13 % on an annual basis.

The growth was driven by strong performance in several key sectors. Information and communication activities surged by 65.67 %, while accommodation and food services expanded by 18.00 % and manufacturing climbed 16.46 %, reflecting diversified economic activity beyond traditional energy extraction. “Other services” also contributed significantly, with a 12.46 % increase.

For the year as a whole, the information and communications sector made the largest contribution to GDP growth, followed closely by other services, trade and vehicle repair, and public administration, underscoring a broad-based recovery in both private and public segments of the economy.

The positive outcome in the fourth quarter of 2025 comes against a backdrop of mixed economic signals earlier in the year, with non-petroleum activities generally outperforming the traditional oil sector — a dynamic that is shaping Angola’s longer-term growth prospects.
