On Wednesday, March 18, technical advisor Mayeul Alex Lagaud of Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Environment announced the country’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 33.07 percent by 2035.
Speaking at a steering Committee meeting of the Low-Carbon Transition Project, he underscored a shared vision between national authorities and technical partners to position the low-carbon transition as a key pillar of national development. He highlighted ongoing efforts in renewable energy expansion, reforestation, and sustainable agriculture, noting the need for strategic guidance and decisive action to meet set targets.
The Government has also reaffirmed progress in climate governance, including strengthening transparency systems and completing sector-specific studies, as part of its broader environmental and development agenda.
