The Federal Council of Tariqa Tijania Followers in Mali (CONFENAT-Mali) paid tribute to King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, for his guidance and support that were decisive in the council’s creation.
During the commemoration last week in Bamako of the tenth anniversary of the creation of CONFENAT-Mali, political figures and religious leaders expressed their deep gratitude to King Mohammed VI for all the actions he has undertaken to the benefit of the Tijane sisters and brothers and all the Sufis in Mali and elsewhere.
The speakers highlighted the centuries-old ties binding Morocco and Mali, laying emphasis on the great spirituality drawn from the Malikite rite which advocates a tolerant Islam.
Morocco’s Ambassador to Mali Hassan Naciri who attended the event welcomed this Tijane initiative at the Malian national level, and underlined the Sovereign’s support to this ambitious unifying project.
The ceremony, which brought together in Bamako a thousand of Tijane followers, was also attended by the Malian Minister of Religious Affairs Mahamadou Kone, and the Minister Delegate Oumarou Diarra.
