Guinea: National consultations begin this morning with the participation of Alpha Conde’s party

The national consultations begin this Tuesday, September 14. Throughout the week, the National Committee for Gathering and Development (CNRD) invites “all the living forces of the nation” to meetings at the People’s Palace.
For these national consultations, the program looks busy. From this Tuesday 10am, it will be the beginning at the People’s Palace of a marathon with slots scheduled every two hours. The political leaders will open the ball, knowing that the parties have not been identified. Indeed, there is no personalized invitation, so in theory, representatives of all formations can go.
This Tuesday, in addition to political parties, representatives of regional coordination and religious leaders are expected. On Wednesday, it will be the turn of civil society, diplomatic missions, and associations of Guineans abroad. On Thursday, the consultations will be open to the heads of mining companies and employers’ organizations. Finally, on Friday, the last expected participants will be bank directors and union representatives.
The RPG/Arc-en-Ciel, party of the overthrown president Alpha Conde, will participate in these consultations. The decision was taken after a meeting on Monday, says the administrative secretary of the party, Lansana Komara.
The secretary general of the party will represent the RPG at these discussions which are first of all a “contact”, says Lansana Komara. “We will listen and then we will see what to do. The RPG is a party of dialogue, we have always favored dialogue, we are for consultation, for negotiation. And we want to focus on the release of our president Alpha Conde.
