The High Authority of Communication of Mali permanently suspends the broadcasting of RFI and F24

The High Authority for Communication in Mali made public on Wednesday 27 April its decision to suspend RFI and France 24, which have not been broadcasting in Mali since 17 March. France Médias Monde strongly contests such a measure. It will use all other possible means of appeal. We will continue to cover the news in Mali, which is of interest to the whole of Africa as well as the rest of the world. All technical solutions will be implemented to make our media accessible to Malians who wish to continue to receive free, expert information that is open to the world. FMM recalls its commitment to independence and freedom of information.
France Médias Monde is also surprised that, contrary to the principle of equal treatment of all before the law, the HAC only targeted France Médias Monde channels for information they broadcast on alleged exactions by the Malian army, while information of the same nature was broadcast by other media accessible in Mali, without them having incurred the slightest sanction, which FMM welcomes.
