French international and Spain’s reigning Champions FC Barcelona’s right back Jules Kounde has arrived in Benin, his country of origin, to connect with family.
The defender reportedly arrived in capital Cotonou on Monday December 25 for vacations as the Spanish league is on a break.
“Very happy to be here. It’s been a long time since I’ve been here. I thought it would be good to visit my family, my uncle…” he told State-run television.
“We don’t have many vacations and it’s hard to find the time. That’s why, as soon as the opportunity arose, I seized it to be in Cotonou”, explained the football-player.
The 25-year old sportsman said he is in the West African country to rest and to stay with family.
The stylish player is being rumored to have been put on the transfer list of players to be sold by the Spanish giant next year. A poll conducted by the Spanish media ‘Sport’ revealed that 40 per cent of Barcelona fans who took part in the survey made Kounde the head of the shortlist of players they want the club to get rid of.
Kounde joined Barcelona during 2022 summer transfer window from Seville. He only played 13 games with his club this season.
