The Dubai-based Emirates airlines will increase the number of its flights to Zambia and Zimbabwe as of next October.
The carrier which currently operates Dubai-Harare-Lusaka flights five days a week will introduce daily flights to meet the rising demand on the route, the air company said.
The cargo capacity will also be increased by 40 percent, which will foster trade links and facilitate export business opportunities for both sides.
The other UAE carrier ETIHAD Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, is also strengthening its network in Africa. The company announced recently that it will add the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, to its network in November.
The new route will support the UAE carrier’s projects to connect key strategic cities with Abu Dhabi and to enhance commercial and leisure travel with the UAE capital.
Flights between Abu Dhabi and Addis Ababa, the carrier’s ninth African destination, will initially operate five times a week, before increasing to daily flights next year.
