On Sunday September 1, the Multisectoral Regulatory Agency for the Economy (ARME) announced that fuel prices in Cape Verde decreased by an average of 5.71% in September, and saw a year-on-year decline of 12.26%.
According to ARME’s latest update, the largest percentage drop was observed in marine diesel, which fell by 7.15%. This was followed by a 7.10% reduction in diesel used for electricity, a 6.31% decrease in normal diesel, a 6.02% drop in oil, and a 6.01% decline in gasoline.
Additionally, fuel oil 180 prices decreased by 5.90%, fuel oil 380 dropped by 5.51%, and butane gas prices fell by 1.66%.
The regulatory agency noted that these changes reflect an average reduction of 5.71% in fuel prices for the month. Compared to September 2023, the average price reduction stands at 12.26%, while the average decrease for the current year is 5.77%.
The new maximum fuel prices will remain in effect until the end of the month.
