Egypt unveils cutting-edge armored vehicles at El Alamein Aerospace Expo

Egypt showcased its advanced defense capabilities by unveiling the ST100 and ST500 armored vehicles at the El Alamein International Air and Space Exhibition. Proudly labeled “Made in Egypt,” these vehicles attracted significant international attention, underscoring Egypt’s growing military industry.

The ST100, developed by Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production at Military Factory 200, marks a major leap in defense technology. This adaptable vehicle accommodates up to five crew members in its patrol version and up to eight in attack configurations.

Notably, the ST100 features a V-shaped hull designed to resist blasts from mines and IEDs, classifying it as a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle. Its monocoque structure enhances blast resistance, with a detachable crew compartment and shock-absorbing seats for added protection. The vehicle also includes thermal cameras and sensors for real-time situational awareness and is powered by a 400-horsepower Cummins ISL diesel engine with a ZF EcoLife 6-speed automatic transmission. Its armor can be upgraded to Stanag 4 level for protection against armor-piercing rounds up to 14.5 mm.

The ST500, a smaller version of the ST100, is designed for troop transport, special operations, and medical evacuation. Despite its lighter build, it incorporates many advanced features of the ST100, offering versatility and effectiveness in various roles.
