Egypt is rapidly developing an electronic platform dedicated to medical tourism, according to a recent announcement by Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar. This new platform aims to simplify the medical visa process and attract international patients.
In a meeting of the technical Secretariat of the Higher Committee for Medical Tourism on Wednesday September 4, Abdel Ghaffar highlighted the urgency of finalizing the platform and establishing the criteria for medical visas. He emphasized that Egypt’s infrastructure and medical expertise position it to become a leading hub for medical tourism.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry of Health and Population’s spokesperson, explained that the platform will offer a comprehensive service for medical tourists, handling everything from visa applications to the completion of treatment. It will ensure that medical visas are processed within 72 hours.
The meeting also focused on strategies to promote Egypt’s medical tourism sector and build international trust. The ministry is committed to delivering a smooth and efficient experience for medical tourists, from visa application to treatment.
