Princess Lalla Hasnaa & France 1st Lady Visit Rabat’s Botanical Garden

Princess Lalla Hasnaa, President of Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and the First Lady of France, Brigitte Macron, visited on Tuesday Rabat’s botanical garden which offers visitors the possibility to enjoy a wide variety of flowers, palm trees and plants from around the world.

The Princess and the wife of French President followed a presentation highlighting the various actions undertaken by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection.

Since its creation, the Foundation has placed environmental education at the heart of its mission and actions. Aware of the major environmental issues at stake, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection adopted an inclusive approach aimed at encouraging shared responsibility and supporting programs inculcating environment values in schools in order to build a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.

The Botanical Garden of Rabat covers an area of 17 hectares with an estimated 600 species of more than 1000 varieties. It is one of the greenest and most relaxing places in Morocco’s busy capital city.

Princess Lalla Hasnaa and the First Lady of France attended an aromatic plant workshop and followed a presentation on the Rabat botanical garden’s educational pathway, the “Young Environmental Reporters” program, and an educational model designed to promote sustainable water management and eco-friendly actions.

The same day, Princess Lalla Meryem, President of the National Observatory for Children’s Rights and Brigitte Macron launched a campaign against cyber-bullying in schools at a secondary school in Rabat.
The First Lady of France arrived Monday in Rabat with President Emmanuel Macron on a three-day state visit to the North African Kingdom at the invitation of King Mohammed VI.
