British Airways has announced year-round direct flights between London and Morocco’s capital Rabat, marking the airline’s third Moroccan destination as the North African nation experiences unprecedented tourism growth.
BA Euroflyer, a subsidiary of British Airways, will operate the new route starting November 5, offering twice-weekly services on Wednesdays and Sundays using Airbus A320 aircraft. The expansion forms part of the carrier’s broader short-haul network development, which also includes new services to Graz, Austria.
Promotional fares start at £70 each way including taxes and carrier fees, positioning the route competitively for both leisure and business travelers. The airline highlighted Rabat’s appeal as a year-round destination offering warm weather, rich cultural heritage, and a distinctive blend of traditional and modern architecture.
The timing aligns with Morocco’s booming tourism sector, which recorded a remarkable 19 percent growth in the first half of 2025. Minister of Tourism Fatim-Zahra Ammor confirmed that Morocco welcomed 8.9 million international visitors during this period, representing an additional 1.4 million tourists compared to the same timeframe last year.
“These results confirm Morocco’s attractiveness and our ability to draw an increasing number of tourists,” Ammor stated, underlining the country’s successful positioning in global tourism markets.
British Airways now serves three Moroccan cities, with established routes to Marrakech and Casablanca complementing the new Rabat service. The expansion reflects growing British interest in Morocco as a destination combining accessibility, cultural richness, and favorable weather conditions.
The route launch demonstrates airlines’ confidence in Morocco’s tourism infrastructure and market potential, particularly as travelers seek diverse destinations within convenient flying distances from major European capitals.
