Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to begin an official visit to Türkiye on Monday, January 26, as part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to a statement from the Nigerian Presidency, the visit will prioritise cooperation in key sectors, including security, education, social development, innovation and aviation. Strategic discussions are also expected on finance, communications, trade and investment.
The programme will feature engagements with senior officials from both countries, with several Memoranda of understanding anticipated in areas such as scientific research, energy and military cooperation.
A business forum bringing together investors from Nigeria and Türkiye is also scheduled. The visit comes more than four years after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s official trip to Nigeria in October 2021.
