In a plenary session convened in Luanda, Angola’s National Electoral Commission (CNE) met to evaluate and coordinate preparatory measures for the 2027 general electoral process, which is scheduled to take place by August 2027.

During the meeting, commissioners reviewed the timetable and strategic arrangements necessary to ensure that administrative, logistical, and procedural frameworks are in place well ahead of the polls. Key areas of focus included updating electoral infrastructure, planning procurement of essential equipment and services, and ensuring that the CNE’s internal plans align with legal and calendar requirements.

The session reflects ongoing efforts to bolster the CNE’s operational readiness, including initiation of public tenders for electoral material and services. These moves come amid broader national preparations and budgetary allocations aimed at facilitating a comprehensive and transparent electoral cycle in 2027.

This assessment session underscores Angola’s ongoing institutional commitment to the electoral process as the country approaches a pivotal multi‑party vote for both the presidency and the 220‑seat National Assembly.
