Ethiopia, Bangladesh pledge stronger economic partnership to boost trade and investment

Ethiopia and Bangladesh have agreed to deepen bilateral ties, placing expanded economic cooperation at the centre of future engagement following high-level talks between their Foreign ministers.

Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos and his Bangladeshi counterpart Khalilur Rahman explored avenues to strengthen collaboration across trade, investment and multilateral platforms.

Ethiopia highlighted its ongoing economic growth and invited Bangladeshi investors to explore opportunities in renewable energy, agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment manufacturing and industrial development. The diplomatic engagement was held on Tuesday, April 21.

Bangladesh reaffirmed its commitment to expanding trade and investment linkages, with both sides agreeing to elevate relations through a more structured and economically driven partnership.
