Ethiopia intensified efforts to attract investment from Turkey during the Ethio–Turkey Business Forum held on 7 May 2026 in Addis Ababa.
The Forum brought together Government officials, investors, manufacturers and business leaders from both countries to strengthen trade and investment cooperation. Ethiopian officials promoted the country’s strategic location, ongoing economic reforms and expanding market opportunities as key attractions for Turkish investors.
The event featured business-to-business meetings aimed at fostering private sector partnerships, alongside an exhibition showcasing garments and other Turkish products with participation from companies linked to the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
A major outcome of the forum was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations and the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote trade and investment ties. The agreement was signed by Zehara Mohammed and İbrahim Burkay.
Organizers said more than 160 Turkish companies participated in the forum, reflecting growing economic engagement between the two countries.
