South Africa is using the 2026 AIM Congress in Dubai to promote itself as a credible, competitive and attractive investment destination, according to Trade, Industry and Competition Minister Parks Tau.
The investment forum began on Monday, September 7, 2026, and is scheduled to end on Wednesday, September 9. It brings together senior government officials, investors and business leaders to discuss global economic challenges and explore investment opportunities.
Tau said South Africa’s appeal to international investors was underpinned by its sophisticated financial and services sectors, established industrial capacity, extensive infrastructure, abundant natural resources, world-class institutions and strategic position as a gateway to Africa.
He stressed that investment should extend beyond capital inflows to support productive economies, sustainable employment, industrial development, skills and technology transfer, and broader opportunities for citizens.
On Tuesday, September 8, Tau is expected to address a high-level ministerial roundtable under the theme, “Investment 4.0: Shaping a Resilient and Intelligent Global Economy.”
