The President-elect of Angola, João Lourenço, takes office this Thursday, beginning his second term, in the presence of 12 heads of state and dozens of other representatives, but without the presence of the main opposition leader, who contested the results.
The inauguration ceremony for the leader of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), winner of the August 24 elections, was attended by Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the only European country represented at the highest level, and several African heads of state.
