Empresa Nacional de Comercialização de Diamantes de Angola (SODIAM-EP) will auction 43 special diamond stones, including a 170.20-carat pink diamond, with viewing sessions taking place from October 24 to November 14.
The bidding process for these stones closes on 15 November 2022 and will only be done electronically to customers registered by SODIAM and who have expertise in marketing special stones, the company said in a statement.
The auction included seven special stones weighing more than 10.8 carats from Lulo production, Lunda Norte province, including a 170.20-carat pink diamond, three stones ranging from 112 to 160 carats, and three stones weighing between 45 and 56 carats.
The viewing sessions, to be held at the offices of SODIAM’s headquarters in Luanda, will also include 27 special stones over 10.8 carats from the production of Catoca, Lunda Sul, including a 104.7-carat diamond and several lots weighing between 20 and 40 carats.
Also included in the auction are nine special stones over 10.8 carats from the Luele production, including several lots weighing between 20 and 40 carats.
SODIAM, founded in 1999, is a state-owned company responsible for marketing Angola’s diamond production. The Angolan state-owned company exported about 8.9 million carats of rough diamonds worth $1.62 billion (1.65 billion euros) in 2021.
