Morocco Breaks Tourism Record, Welcoming Nearly 20 Mln Tourists in 2025, Generating $13 bln Revenues

Morocco has set a new tourism record, receiving 19.8 million tourists in 2025, generating over $ 13 billion in revenues. This performance represents a 14% increase compared to 17.4 million tourists recorded in 2024.

Morocco’s rich history, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant culture continues to attract foreign travellers, confirming the status of the Kingdom as one of the leading destinations on the African continent and boosting the country’s tourism’s industry becoming a major driver of economic growth.

According to experts, several factors have contributed to Morocco’s exceptional tourism performance. These factors include the 2023–2026 Tourism Roadmap, focused on air connectivity, upgrading accommodation, diversifying products, and improving the traveller’s experience.

The intensification of targeted promotional campaigns in strategic markets (Europe, the Middle East, North America), combined with a stronger digital presence for Morocco as a destination.

France remains a key source market, but growth is now more diversified with the increasing presence of British, Spanish, and other European and international visitors. This diversification reduces dependence on a single country and strengthens the sector’s resilience to external shocks.

Morocco’s ambition is to reach 26 million visitors by 2030 due to the 2030 World Cup, which the Kingdom will co-host with Spain and Portugal. The global football tournament is expected to bolster investments in hotel, transport, and urban infrastructure.
