Ethiopia and the United States held high-level bilateral consultations in Washington, D.C. on Monday, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties and expanding cooperation in key strategic areas.
The Ethiopian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Gedeon Timothewos, included Macroeconomic Advisor to the Prime Minister Ambassador Girma Birru and Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Service, Ambassador Redwan Hussein.
Discussions with senior United States officials focused on boosting economic growth through trade and investment, enhancing defence and security cooperation, and promoting regional peace and stability.
Both sides underscored the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement and agreed that the newly established consultation framework would provide a more structured platform for dialogue and strengthen the long-standing partnership between the two countries.
