Angola and France reinforce cooperation with the presence of the patrol vessel “Commandant Bistrot”

The high-seas patrol vessel “Commandant Bistrot” docked at the port of Luanda on Monday, where it will remain until Friday, strengthening the link between the navies of the two countries.
The French and Angolan navies have strengthened their cooperation, with the holding of a joint exercise between crews from the two countries, as part of the presence in Angola of the open-sea patrol vessel “Commandant Bistrot”.
The patrol vessel called at the port of Luanda on Monday, where it will remain until Friday, said Wednesday the French ambassador to Angola, Daniel Vosgien. The diplomat said that the call of the ship is after another one that took place in June 2022, as part of the “Corymbe” mission, which was created more than 30 years ago for the French Navy, consisting of a permanent presence in the Gulf of Guinea and off the coast of West Africa.
The French ambassador stressed that the patrol ship is present in the Gulf of Guinea for various purposes, including the fight against maritime piracy, pollution, illegal fishing and ship rescue.
